SMTP RELAY Connect any provider, or use ours

One platform, every SMTP relay you send through.

Connect SendGrid, Amazon SES, Mailgun, Postmark or your own SMTP alongside our relays, and route each segment down the lane that suits it. Cold traffic on neutral IPs that are replaceable. Engaged contacts on high-reputation ones that are not.

  • Any custom SMTP
The model

Two lanes, because cold data and engaged data need opposite things.

A cold list needs infrastructure you can afford to burn. An engaged list needs infrastructure with a reputation worth protecting. Running both through one relay is how people lose an account.

Lane 1 · Standard

MailClickConvert Standard SMTP

Neutral IPs, built for cold outreach and purchased lists. This is where new data goes first.

  • Built for cold and purchased lists, with no approval queue on your file
  • Neutral IP reputation, which is what makes testing and discovery safe
  • If an IP burns out, we replace it automatically. It is a replaceable risk layer by design
  • The right starting point for finding new leads without touching your main sending reputation
Lane 2 · Premium

Premium SMTP relays

High-reputation IPs for contacts who have already proved they want the mail. Ours, yours, or both.

  • Built for engaged and verified contacts, not for discovery
  • Strong IP reputation, which is where the inbox placement gains come from
  • Far less forgiving. Abuse it and the provider bans the IP, so promotion rules matter
  • Use MailClickConvert Premium, your own provider, or several at once
  • SendGrid
  • Amazon SES
  • Mailgun
  • Postmark
  • SMTP.com
  • MCC Premium
Routing

Three reasons to run more than one relay.

Not variety for its own sake. Each of these is a failure mode that a single-provider setup cannot avoid.

1

Rate limits and concentration risk

Spreading volume across two or more premium providers means no single account carries all of it. One provider tightening is then a slowdown, not an outage, and you are never one policy change away from a stalled quarter.

2

Routing by segment

Standard IPs for cold discovery, premium for engaged leads, your own SendGrid for warm bulk, Postmark for high-value domains. Each segment goes down the lane built for it instead of averaging out on one.

3

Graceful failover

If a provider throttles mid-campaign, sending moves to the next relay in rotation rather than queueing behind the limit. The campaign finishes late at worst instead of finishing half sent.

When to use which

Which lane a job belongs in.

Standard SMTP, neutral IPsPremium SMTP, high reputation
Complete cold or purchased lists Yes, this is the starting point Not recommended, risks the IP and the account
Engaged and verified contacts Possible, but you leave placement on the table Best inbox placement
Fast testing and iteration Replaceable risk layer, test freely Protect the reputation instead
Scaling a proven segment Works, but less efficient Designed for exactly this
Running several providers at once Blends with premium relays Blend premiums with each other and with standard
Pricing

Two parts, and the second one is optional.

You pay for the platform, which is the routing system itself. Then you decide who carries the send. Bring your own provider and that is the whole bill.

Hands-on deliverability support is available on every plan from $199 a month. That is our team in your account diagnosing placement, reputation and routing rather than a support queue. It is optional, and plenty of teams never take it.

Premium volume is billed on top of the platform plan, which is why every card says so. A team on Growth at $299 sending a million a month through our premium relays pays $898 in total. The same team bringing their own SendGrid pays $299 and whatever SendGrid charges them.

In the platform

The relay is the routing. This is everything around it.

01

Campaign builder

Premium message editor, A/B testing, and sending schedules you control per segment rather than per account.

02

Reporting

Advanced campaign reports, Google Postmaster integration, and spam-score checking before a message goes out.

03

List hygiene

List cleaning against known complainers, bad addresses and spam traps, plus automatic warm-up on new infrastructure.

04

Teams and access

User and account management, so agencies can separate clients, plus webhooks and APIs for everything else.

Questions

SMTP relays, answered.

Can I send a full cold or purchased list through a premium SMTP?
You can, and we would advise against it. Premium providers run high-reputation shared infrastructure and they are unforgiving: a cold list that bounces hard gets the IP banned and, often, the account flagged. Start cold traffic on MailClickConvert Standard IPs, which are neutral and replaceable, then promote only the contacts who verified and engaged onto a premium relay.
Do I have to use MailClickConvert's premium SMTP?
No. Bring SendGrid, Amazon SES, Mailgun, Postmark, SMTP.com or any custom SMTP, and keep whatever rate you have already negotiated. Use ours, use yours, or run both in the same campaign. The platform plan is what you are paying us for; who carries the send is your choice.
Can I connect more than one premium SMTP at once?
Yes, and most serious senders should. Running SendGrid and Mailgun and Postmark together spreads volume so no single account hits a rate limit, and it means a throttle at one provider slows a campaign instead of stopping it. Starter connects 2 relays, Growth 4, and Scale and Enterprise are unlimited.
How do I decide who gets promoted to a premium relay?
Simple rules work best: verified address, plus an open, click or reply inside a set window. The reporting gives you those segments directly, so promotion is a filter rather than a guess. The point is that premium infrastructure only ever sees contacts who have already proved they want the mail.
What is the difference between this and your bulk email platform?
The bulk email platform sends on our own dedicated IPs, which are built to accept purchased and cold data. The SMTP relay system is the routing layer: it connects any number of providers, ours and yours, and decides which lane each segment goes down. Plenty of customers run both, with cold discovery on standard IPs and engaged traffic on premium relays.
How much does it cost in total?
Two parts. A platform plan from $99 a month, which is the system itself, plus a one-off $99 setup. Then sending: bring your own SMTP and you pay only your provider, or add MailClickConvert Premium SMTP from $99 a month for 100,000 emails. A team on Growth using their own SendGrid pays us $299 a month and nothing more.

Tell us what you are sending, and where.

Your volume, your data, and which providers you already pay for. We will tell you which plan fits, whether to bring your own SMTP or use ours, and how to split cold from engaged.

  • If your own SendGrid covers it, we will say so rather than sell you premium volume
  • A real routing plan for your segments, not a feature list
  • Free either way, and useful whether or not you become a customer
